1966-1972 Spencer Foods, Inc.
Founder Richard Heggestad started as a utility worker/carcass loadout which consisted of sorting and staging loads of carcass for shipment.
1975-1980 IBP, Inc.
Heggestad is the carcass selector/salesman then promoted to regional box beef sales which entailed selecting carcasses for carcass account shipments. Highly trained in carcass sales then transferred to box beef sales and trained to head IBP Service Center.
1980-1982 Heggestad Beef Brokerage
Heggestad became a boxed beef broker for a family-owned business. The original job consisted of carcass brokering then evolved into boxed beef brokering.
1982-1985 Okoboji Beef Brokers, Inc.
Cheryl and Dick Heggestad started own brokerage of boxed beef and pork.
1985-1987 Sterling Beef Co.
Heggestad took position as the Vice-president of boxed beef in which duties included operations and sales. A key contribution to Sterling Beef Co. was the creation, development, and implementation for Sterling Silver products.
1987-1993 Marcus Food Co.
Heggestad became a food trader for Marcus Food Co., Porky Products and Colorado Box Beef Co. during this time.
1993 Founding of RCH Enterprises, Inc
Richard Heggestad founded RCH Enterprises, Inc. with wife Cheryl from a home office. Eventually grew through the development of associations with distributors, traders, and customers all over the United States.
1994 RCH Enterprises Expands Operations
Expanded the Operation with the hire of Amy Heggestad (daughter)current VP of Sales
1997 Outgrew Home Office, Moved To Douglas Street
Grew out of home office and operated from an office complex on Douglas Street in Wichita, Kansas.
2000 Established Lake Point Headquarters
Began operating from current headquarters at Lake Point due to the exponential growth which has expanded three times over the past 17 years.
2016 Servicing Over 175 Valued Partners
RCH believes deeply in creating strong long lasting partnerships and therefore bringing value and success to those relationships which amount to over 175 partners.
2017 – RCH Expansion to Freight Services
Started the process of expanding RCH to have an internal freight department for our protein sales.
2019 - RCH Freight Expansion with Brokering Division
Freight department expanded to be a Freight brokering division and continued to apply the great values and ethics that started the company in 1993.
2021 - RCH Growth Continues
Now has grown to build strong long-lasting partnerships and therefore bringing value & success to those relationships to over 1,300 customers and carriers.
2023 - Celebration of 30 Years in Business
Celebrating 30 YEARS of great values and ethics with our Protein & Freight Brokering partners.
